Robert joined DGI in 2000 where he initially served as a Senior Equity Analyst on the investment team. His role shifted to marketing in 2003 in order to lead the growth of the business.

Prior to joining DGI, Robert worked for 12 years at US Bank in the field of financial and investment management.

As the Director of Marketing & Client Relationships at DGI, Robert has helped raise more than $1 billion of assets under management. He leads the worldwide sales force of one, oversees production of the firm’s marketing materials and writes the periodic newsletters, including the Monthly Flash Update and the Quarterly Portfolio Review.
Robert is known for his high energy, compassion and creativity. “Robert embodies unbridled enthusiasm,” says DGI Portfolio Manager Scott Link.

“He is wound-up energy,” adds Director of Client Relationships Sheri Lietzke. “He’s the most genuine sales person I know. He’s very genuine, caring and authentic.”

“Robert really does try to help everyone whenever he can,” explains DGI analyst Nicholas Hansen. “He’s the person in the office who is most likely to buy people lunch.”

Robert has been elected to two terms as president of the CFA Society of Minnesota, where he launched The InvestMNt Conference, a unique investor forum that gives executives of publicly traded companies an opportunity to showcase their companies and meet privately with regional money managers. In 2012, the first year of the conference, executives of 35 publicly traded companies participated in the event.

“Robert is an incredible networker with boundless energy and a big heart,” says DGI Operations Team Leader Cindy Lee.

“He’s a whirlwind,” adds DGI President Fred Martin. “We drafted him as the best available athlete, and man has he performed! He’s phenomenal. I hate him because everyone else loves him. He can say the same thing to someone that I would say, and they love him and hate me.”

“You definitely know it when Robert is in the office,” says DGI Portfolio Manager Rob Nicoski. “He is pure energy. He brings an off-the-wall creativity to the firm.”

Globe-Trotting and Bike Trips

Outside of work, Robert and his wife enjoy traveling to destinations around the world. In 2011, they followed the Women’s World Cup Tournament throughout Europe. Their next stop will be a vacation trip to Iceland, followed by a trip to Singapore for the CFA Annual Conference.

An avid bicyclist, Robert often rides his bike to work from Wayzata into downtown Minneapolis.
