Sheri has been with DGI from the very start, helping Fred Martin establish the company in 1997.

Prior to DGI, she served as Fred’s primary portfolio assistant at Mitchell Hutchins Asset Management for about 10 years. “Since we opened in 1997, Sheri has really blossomed,” says Fred. “She has really grown into her role as the service team leader.”

Sheri wears many hats for DGI. She handles much of the stock trading as a portfolio assistant, serves as the municipal bond trader, coordinates the client meetings and presentations, and sometimes hosts client dinners.

But her most important role may be dealing with clients. “I try to take a proactive approach with clients and try to treat them the way I would want to be treated. We want our clients to experience exceptional service like they would expect from premier companies.”

“Sheri takes a huge amount of pride in taking care of our clients,” says DGI CFO Rick Martin. “She’s also the one who makes sure everyone in the office is remembered on their birthdays, anniversaries and any special occasions. She makes sure the cards, the gifts and the flowers are always sent.”
“When it comes to protecting the needs of the client, Sheri has a steel spine and never yields,” adds Robert Buss, DGI Director of Marketing. “When her twins were born, our clients sent her gifts. How often does that happen? That tells you a lot about her rapport with them.”

Because she has been with DGI since the day it opened, Sheri is the resident expert on the company and its culture. “Sheri is a mountain of information,” says DGI Portfolio Manager Scott Link. “She knows everything. If you ever have a question, Sheri will know the answer.”

Climbing pyramids

Outside of work, Sheri is an avid skier—both water and downhill—and once was a member of a water ski team that performed in shows around the area. “I’ve climbed many a pyramid,” she says.

Sheri still skies—downhill primarily at Big Sky Resort in Montana and on the water at her family’s cabin on Coon Lake in Minnesota.
